The guards are about to learn the hard way why freezing in a firefight is a bad idea.
Annabelle dives through the door after Tanya, rolling and bringing both pistols up to fire. Two guards go down with bullets between the eyes, their guns half un-holstered as their bodies hit the floor.
Another one of the guards somehow seems to stumble as he's getting to his feet, landing on a fourth, resulting in some comically misdirected fire. Never mind the sideways chopping motion Bonzo just made as he went over. As to numbers five and six, Bonzo is quickly running around the corner as he's been told to.
Five and six go down with bullets to the throat and head, then Tanya rol,ls to her feet to go after Bonzo. The conscripts are starting to recover and bullets will start flying in numbers soon.
Ahead, a couple technicians with more presence of mind are fiddling with the control panel of the blast doors, trying to close up the missile launch central.
We can't have that! Annabelle follows the other two, moving rapidly.
The technicians trying to close the doors are her targets once they come into sight. Two of them go down thanks to bullets through the side of their skulls.
Annabelle doesn't know what would happen if she damaged the control panel, after all.
More subtle action. Once Bonzo gets in sight of them and in range of them, he takes note of a conveniently-placed fire extinguisher behind one of the technicians, and suddenly triggers it. The confusion lets him run forward, ignite his lightsaber, and shove it into the control panel. He'll deal with side-effects later.
What he might need right now, however, is some backup: The lightsaber is coming up and around to deal with one of the technicians, but there are probably at least two still alive, and he can't put the thing in two places at once right now.
Oh no, Bonzo is fine, see? The two remaining opponents fell victim of sudden cases of lead poisoning.
As soon as he is done with the last one, they should duck behind the partially closed doors: reinforcements are on the way and the air is about to become lethally tainted with fast-moving projectiles.
"Too bad we can not linger..." Tanya picks a C-4 pack from one of the pockets of her tactical belt. "Bonzo, go ahead and clear the next hallway for us, will you? Me and Annabelle will give cover and I will leave a gift for any pursuers."
Annabelle grins. "You always give the best gifts," she tells her friend.
She moves to cover Bonzo when she sees the forklift with a stack of tempting barrels. Her smile at that sight would scare the most hardened predator.
She fires twice, sending the barrels careening to the ground below, where they explode with considerable violence. The Soviets that are still alive by the time the barrels of fun have done their work are more than a little distracted.
"Will do." He dashes off to check the hallway in question, sticking his head around the corner. He notices a group of Russians running down the hall in two columns of about five each, and lets loose with several shots from his blaster. In a nicely confined hallway, the term 'target rich environment' immediately leaps to mind: He downs the two in front of the columns, and the others end up taking cover behind them and returning fire.
"We've got company!" he shouts back, continuing to loose fire down the hall.
"Oh, great." Tanya mutters, slapping the explosive on the wall and switching the proximity sensor. "Armed in ten, nine, eight..." She speaks for Annabelle's benefit while heading after Bonzo. "We have to hurry."
Annabelle growls something profane in Arabic and follows Tanya at a run.
Standing in columns is going to prove to be a very bad idea. Her Hell pistols pack enough punch to get two soldiers for the price of a single bullet that way.
The sound of gunfire is nearly deafening in a closed space.
Bonzo keeps up the fire as they press forward, away from the impending explosions. Two bullets whiz by him at very close distances, making him wince...but not let up on his attack as he tries to get as much distance as possible.
Fortunately, they seem to be getting through most of the Russians, and any that aren't dead from the shooting are probably not going to combine their injuries with the incoming concussions too well.
As the explosion goes off, Bonzo leaps forward through the air, probably landing behind any of the remaining Russkies. He'll explain that later.
Tanya might ask later; right now she is busy helping Anabelle finish clearing the hallway.
A bit ahead they will run into something different, two soldiers wearing powered armor.
You never saw a commando duck out of the way so quickly, and right in time as the Tesla troopers send arcing bolts of charged-hot plasma down the hallway.
Annabelle puts some of her Klingon profanity to use as she dives toward the ground. The very edge of one of the plasma bolts singes the edges of the back of her armored vest as she hits the floor.
She rolls behind the bodies of several soviets, using them as cover. That kind of armor calls for more firepower. She un-slings the sniper rifle and chambers a round of the HEAP ammo.
Then she brings the rifle up and fires at the joints in the armor. One of the Tesla troopers screams in mortal agony as the HEAP ammo hits the joint holding his right arm to his body and destroys it in a spray of gore.
Bonzo puts his blaster back in the holster and gets out his lightsaber. It's glaringly obvious that simply shooting bolts into this thing is going to be like blowing really hard at a hurricane, so he's not going to try. What he does do is get behind a metal crate in the hall and keep his head down for the moment...he's not going to try and charge these guys.
The bloody mess he sees raining in the hall a moment later surprises him. Looking at the other trooper, who's walking by, he runs up the last few feet before sliding under his left arm and swinging his lightsaber past at the knees. It won't kill him outright, but it should distract him. Losing your lower legs will do that, y'know?
To Tanya: "Unless it's about a foot thick, it should do." And if it is, he can probably melt his way through. Getting to his feet, Bonzo walks forward and takes a swing at the lock. "Worse comes to worse, I can just cut the door down."
When the single swing doesn't do the trick, Bonzo simply shoves the blade as deep into the door as he can at the lock, and starts cutting through it, slow as the process might be. They will be getting through, even if he's looking a little warm from standing by the melting metal before too long.
